Visionaries: Making Another Perspective Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum of Art
Outline
As part of the special exhibition Visionaries: Making Another Perspective, held at the Higashiyama Cube of Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum of Art, GO ON presented an exhibition exploring the idea of Kyoto as a “Craft City” one hundred years into the future.
The project was centered on the concept of a fictional facility, the Rejuvenation Workshop, imagined as existing in Kyoto a century from now.
Here, “rejuvenation” is defined not as mere repair or restoration, but as an act of renewal—adding creativity and value in order to make something better than before.
This notion of rejuvenation extends beyond objects.
It becomes a way of rethinking culture, society, and the relationship between humans and nature through the lens of craft.
Through the exhibited work The Rejuvenation Workshop in 100 Years, GO ON presented craft not only as a practice of making, but as a conceptual tool for envisioning the future of cities and societies.
